Transitional Youth Shelter
The Transitional Youth Shelter is made possible through a partnership between NCSA, Edmonton Housing Trust Fund, the City of Edmonton, Human Resources Development Canada and Correctional Service of Canada/CORCAN. Construction was completed by Clark Builders.
The 52 bed transitional housing unit in Edmonton allows families and individuals to receive services and be housed in the project for up to three years. NCSA offers culturally sensitive programs to the youth-at-risk, between the ages of 18 and 30, client groups depending on the clients' immediate and long-term needs. The programs focus on homeless prevention through urban living skills and employment readiness programs to assist individuals to work towards independence and self-sufficiency.
